Thanks for the update. Love the pic on the beach:)
Thanks for the kind words and for stopping by!
Hooray for week 5! 🙂
Ahhh I know! It was the first time she’s ever been able to put her little leg out like that!
You look great, Chelsea:)
Thank you! She continues to improve each day– hooray!!
That is fabulous! Yay for Chelsea! 🙂
Such a hope-full post! 🙂
Thanks Tita! We are amazed at her progress– getting better every day!
She is looking good! I’m so glad she’s recovering well. By the way, do you have any tips for resting and rehabilitating a dog post-surgery when you have other active dogs in the house? My Duke has to have ACL surgery tomorrow, and I’m a little worried about Gertie’s high energy during his recovery.
Hello Andrea- thanks for the comments! On the other hand, so sorry to hear about poor Duke! The hardest part of recovery for us has been keeping Chelsea and Scarlett from playing! That being said, when we first brought Chelsea home, we put her in the crate and then brought Harley and Scarlett in so they could greet each other at a distance. Once everyone was calm, we let her out. They both knew she had surgery and were very gentle at first but that didn’t stop them from playing down the road. To minimize any complications, we kept Chelsea separated by a dog gate when we were away. We also crated her at night for extra safety. When outside, they always wanted to play, so I would put Chelsea on a leash to avoid it. Other than that, many hours of staring at them while they interacted, ready to step in with a “GENTLE!” if need be.
Good luck!!!! We will be saying prayers for sweet Duke and we wish him a speedy recovery!!!
What a wonderful recovery! We are still praying and cant wait to see more updates!
The Collies and CHuck 🙂
Woowoo, thanks Chuck and the Collies!! We can’t wait until she’s better. We are also keeping Trevor in our prayers. All the best to you!
Wow she is really doing well. You go girl!
Thanks guys! She is one little trooper 🙂
So glad to see Chelsea doing so well. Woo hoo!
Thank you Bongo!!! We are super-excited to see her progress in photos because day to day, it can be hard to tell. We can’t wait until she is completely healed!
