Crunchy Turkey Delights

We love homemade treats!

Makes approximately 20-30

½ cup plain oatmeal
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 lb. ground lean turkey
1 sweet potato, large
2 organic eggs
½ teaspoon parsley or 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 ½ teaspoon flax seed oil

>>Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
>>Cook and cut sweet potato into ½ in. cubes.
>>Mix oatmeal in food processor
>>Mix all ingredients in a bowl and add to food processor, mixing thoroughly. If mixing by hand, mash sweet potato first.

>>Spread into pan about ¼ in. thick and pre-score into 1 in. squares. This will make it easier to cut after baking but be sure not to cut all the way through.

>>Bake for 45 minutes.

>>Remove, cut pre-cut slices all the way through and return to oven at 250 degrees for one hour or until crispy and browned.

>>Store in refrigerator. Will stay good for 2-3 weeks if kept in the freezer.

You can also modify this recipe with any other lean meat, including chicken or even lamb as a special treat!

    • They look like little golden squares…they are really crunchy and tasty 🙂 I took pictures with my SLR camera I got for Christmas…when I figure out how to upload them (don’t have the software yet), I’ll share some photos!
